Road Trip #13: The One with Flowers on a Busy Day

We had a very busy day last sunday, July 29, 2012.
We started the day by going to Divisoria. We arrived there around 8am.
Though i know beforehand that most stores in Tabora are closed on a sunday, I still hoped that I can find and buy the items on my to-buy list.

We were able to buy a yard of yellow felt fabric. I will use this for prototype of flowers bouquet for my entourage (or at least for principal sponsors). I also bought ribbons and lace, also for diy flowers.
I was able to make 3 different flowers from the things I bought, here's the picture:

I still have template for other flowers na pwedeng gawin sa felt, pero tinatamad pa ako. Next time. :)

After that, I have to fit my entourage gown for Russell's wedding, so we went to Here Comes The Gown in Tutuban Cluster. After fitting, pumunta naman kami sa prospect ko for my Entourage Gowns, sa shop ni Ate Nora Pajunar. Ate Nora was not there, but her sister Emily is equally nice and accomodating. Nilista niya lahat ng kelangan kong damit and gave me a good price. I think it's a good deal kaya I booked them na though wala pa kong design. Okay na din yun para bahay nalang nila kami pupunta next time for pasukat at fitting. So, presenting our supplier for Entourage gowns:

Hope they'll perform well!

After that, we have to go to Quezon City to meet mader Julius, an Event Stylist/Florist highly recommended in w@w. His shop is easy to find (though nagfail na naman si GPS ng phone ko).
He's accomodating and parang prepared siya sa ideas for my theme. Pagdating palang namin, he immediately discussed his ideas on backdraft, centerpieces and flowers that he will use. He can also work with your budget, kailangan mo lang sabihan sa kanya kung magkano lang ang kaya mo.

We signed the contract na din for his styling. For the bouquet, hindi ko pa siya binook kasi iniisip ko pa ngang magDIY for the ento. If ever, mag-Fail ako(or tamarin), dun nalang ako magbook sa kanya.
Though decided na ko na siya na din ang kunin for my bridal bouqet para lesser supplier, lesser ang kausap
Here's a picture of Mr. Julius with me and Russell.

That's it for our productive weekend!
We were able to book 3 suppliers in just 2 days. Im happy. :)

Road Trip #12: The One with the Mobile Bar

We went to Palacio de Maynila today to see the setup of Shakers Big Punch 808 Mobile Bar.
I've been in contact with Ryan since February, but it's only now that we find time to schedule a drink-taste.
Their set up is pretty decent, with laser and strobe lights.

The drinks tastes good, we tried the Red my Lips and Tequila Sunrise.

Their package includes mixed drinks (Cocktails, Shooters and Mocktails), flaming shots and bar games.

It also includes 3 Bartenders and 1 Waiter. I think they offered a good deal, so we booked them immediately.

The owner is very easy to talk to. Payag lang siya sa kahit anong irequest ko. Ang bait lang. Here's the picture of Ryan (the owner) with Neil after the contract signing!

Mobile bar checked!

Road Trip #11: The One with the Meetup with Chocolate Supplier

This was a quick meetup with Sophia's Chocolat last July 8, 2012.
Michelle and her husband are nice but seems busy, parang nagmamadali.
Madami yata silang meetups that day.

Among the packages that they have, these are what we are thinking of purchasing:

For the Principal Sponsors.

For the Suppliers and maybe Prizes or the games.

For the Bridesmaids and SS girls.

For the Groomsmen and SS guys.

They are affordable with a very nice and elegant presentation. And the taste, they are good. Not the cadbury-good, but they are good quality chocs. And they are not that sweet! :)

***Pictures taken from the quotes they sent to me.

Road Trip #10: The One with the Coins for Arrhae

From my previous blog entry, I discussed the coins that I wanted to used as our Arrhae for the wedding and showed the coins that I collected so far.

I read this from W@W, the rules for the arrhae:
The groom gives the bride 13 coins or arrhae, blessed by the priest, as a sign of his dedication to his wife's well-being and the welfare of their future children.
So, i revisited my collected coins and see if I can come up with 12 coins from other currencies. (I want to use a Philippine Peso for my 13th piece (Syempre!)

And so far, here's the list:

I already asked for the other currencies in the table with blank denominations, hinihintay ko nalang makuha.
So, we're all set for the coins. We just need a decent holder/container for it. :)
(And research of ways to clean some of the old coins pala)

Road Trip #9: The One with the Coins from different countries

For the arrhae, we decided to use other countries' currencies as coins. Since, i personally don't have a coin collection, I've asked friends that collects coins or that will travel or staying/working in other countries to collect coins for me.

I still don't know the rules for the arrhae, so I just collect and collect and I'll just select later on.

So far, these are my coin collections:

Coins from Abigail (Bangkok)

Coins from Bernard (France)

Coins from Julie (Singapore)

Coins from Hazel (Assorted)

Coins from Tita Neng (London)

Thank you, friends and relatives! :D

Road Trip #8: The One with the On-The-Day Coordinator

March 25, 2012 is a very busy day for us. Solely alloted to meet wedding suppliers.
After the meeting in Cavite with Tito boy, we then went to Mandaluyong to meet 2 perspective OTD coordinators:
  1. The One Exclusive at 4pm Megamall
  2. Event Malditas at 530pm Podium
I've been exchanging emails with these 2 coordinators and both and them were prompt in replying to my queries and very accomodating kahit ilang beses na ko nagpachange ng schedule.

We arrived a little over lunch at Megamall. 4pm pa 1st meeting namin kaya nag-ikot muna kami sa megamall.

Around 330pm, we are searching for a venue for the meeting sa labas ng Megamall. We found J.CO Dougnuts, they offer deliciously-looking doughnuts, tea and coffee.

Come 4pm, TOE's kath and toffy arrived at J.CO's. At first, si Kath lang yung nagsasalita and Toffy seems bored. Pero after a while naman, siya na yung nagkukwento. We talk bussiness muna, inclusions and their tasks as coordinator and Toffy as the emcee. All seems okay naman and actually our only concern naman is if Toffy can make the program formal and fun at the same time. And from his background and our impression naman namin from him, mukhang kaya naman niya.

So, we decided to go with TOE and not meet Malditas anymore. Eto talaga ang sakit namin, once nagmeet na kami ng supplier, we always booked them on the spot.hehe. Madali kaming maconvince. :D

Road Trip #7: The One with the Bridal Gown Part 2

On March 25, 2012, we had our meeting with Tito Boy in his office. Our schedule was around 9 to 10am. We arrived at the subdivision before 9am, so confident kami na maaga kaming makakarating sa office niya.

We just noted his address and relied on my phone's GPS so we didn't ask for directions. And that was our biggest mistake. GPS cannot locate the block and lot info of the address. We had a hard time searching for the address. After circling the subdivision and asking for people for directions, we decided to call Tito Boy and asked for directions. And finally, nakarating din kami. Sa wakas!

For those dependent on Google Maps and GPS, here's the location of his office in map:

Pagdating namin sa office, he retrieved my pegs from his mails and sabi niya akala niya hindi na ko magpapakita.haha. I cancelled the schedule kasi after the first emails kasi his quote is above the budget. Pero tinuloy na din namin kasi I really want to meet him, para kasi siyang celebrity sa W@W,hehe.

After looking at my pegs and checking my body structure, he designed a gown for me. Ang bilis niya lang mag-drawing. He didn't want the ball-gown-skirt that i originally wanted a suggested other design for the skirt. I liked the design so I asked neil if we can extend the budget for my gown, on-the-spot para hindi na siya makatanggi.hehe. Luckily, pumayag naman siya. So we immediately signed the contract with him. I paid the deposit the day after na kasi we did not bring cash and we're afraid na maligaw ulet if magwithdaw at babalik pa kami.

Here's the picture of me with my couturier: Tito Boy!
